This is what makes our game legal in Denver, Colorado

Under Colorado State Law there are three things that must be upheld at all times to maintain its legality

The game is incidental to a bona fide social relationship, (we are friends)

No person is participating, directly or indirectly, in professional gambling (no professional players)

No one  profits from the event directly by raking the pot or indirectly by selling items to players. (all cash must be paid out in prizes)

Time flies so fast! We are on WEEK 33!! And players are coming up on finishing their first 20 tournaments. Dean Hinrichs currently has set the bar! the high score for best “1st 20” is 217pts!

Way to go Dean! 2nd year in a row for “1st 20” lead . Jeff with 3 scores until he gets to 20 just needs to average 13pts each score and he’ll take over the best “1st 20”

This is the point of the season when it gets serious! Chris Hemerson has returned to form this year and holds a commanding lead for 1st place with 244pts which is 15 points in front of the closest competitor.  But now that the Top 5 players are cleaning up scores the math can change dramatically from week to week…

Currently we have 13 active league participants with 2 whom have only played 5 weeks, very similar to last season in that we should send a total of 4 players to the $1,000 bracelet event and 1 or 2 to the $235 deep stack tournament. So Best 1st 20 winner, Wild Card Tournament winner, and the top 2 point earners should round out the $1,000 awards and hopefully have enough cash to send a couple of players to the $235 deep-stack tournament just like last year…

We play a $40 tournament every Tuesday at 8pm. There are usually around 20 players, top 3 split the pot 50%  30%  20%.  We collect an extra $10 from all the players whom want to participate in the League and have their score counted. We keep a running tally of everyone’s score and at the end of the year the top 5 point leaders get a $1000 WSOP Bracelet Event Seat. If one of our members cashes in the WSOP event 35% of the cash will get split equally between the non cashing members and the winner keeps 65%!

We had 2 different players cash for approximately $2000 in each of our first 2 seasons returning about $600 back to the rest of  the group both times. Each non-cashing member received at little over $30. While $30 is not an amazing amount of money, imagine if one of us hits it big!!! We all win…

A 6 pack of beer and a sub sandwich to get you through the night = $14

Playing in a poker league with the best bunch of guys in the world each week = $50

Flying to Vegas for a week of poker playing with the same bunch of great guys = $800

Representing that great bunch of guys in a bracelet event at the World Series of Poker = PRICELESS
